I agree with this last post.
The Savage is a nice lil' bike for the backroads or the occasional highway ride, but if you're riding the highways regularly at speeds of 70+ mph, I'd recommend you go for a bigger bike.
How about a Virago 750, Intruder 800, or a Shadow 750? You can pick up a used one in good shape for about $2500 - $3500.
